Small spark....

'Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one's life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell'.   James 3: 5&6(NIV)

Unfortunately there will be many who lie and tell exaggerated tales on you. Liars know the truth, but, choose to distort it anyway. Those people we have to forgive (Matt.6:14) as they are simple-minded and ignorant to the things and consequences of what they do.

Most often times people lie because they are either; jealous, envious, hateful and flat out don't like you because they don't like themselves. You have something they desire, whatever that something may be. The something could be; friends that love you, family that adores you, peace that shields you from ignorance, etc.

The fire that is set from the spark of their tongue has only a limited time to burn as it needs oxygen to feed it. Oxygen represents life, lies represent death, the two cannot coexist. So in the meantime while the fire of the lie burns, as you pray for yourself, pray for your enemies (Matt. 5:44) as they will be consumed by the spark of fire from their own tongues (Gal. 6:7&8). #thatsurthurty
